About
My name is Nirva Parikh and I am a licensed acupuncturist. I have practiced in Long Beach for over 6 years and I’ve provided well over 16,000 treatments to patients from Long Beach and beyond.
Before my transition into acupuncture, I was an urban planner and I worked in social movements to build healthy and balanced cities by supporting the economic rights of working-class folks. This experience taught me so much about how work impacts our daily lives as I heard about repetitive motion disorders and injuries that people worked through to keep rent paid and food on the table. My takeaway was, “How do we create affordability in health and life?”
When I transitioned into this career, I brought with me the values I gained as an urban planner and as a change-maker. By creating Marigold Acupuncture, I endeavor to create a space for healing, justice, and transformation in a way that is safe, compassionate, and affordable.
As an acupuncturist, I have worked with folks of differing races, classes, income levels, gender identities, sexualities, and political identities. And I am so grateful for every experience. Together, we have addressed issues that include chronic pain, fertility, immunosuppression, cancer, stroke, depression, anxiety, kidney disease, allergies, trauma, and so much more. I’m proud of the changes Chinese Medicine has created in each of you and I am honored to share in these journeys.
